3 out of 10 OTT
Peter from Cork, 14 Jan 2011
Good story, cast and big budget, but it still is no match for the far superior Day After Tomorrow. The FX and CGI shots are good, but it is really made for the masses of american film goers who turn out in their millions at theatres across the continent for this type of block buster, and maybe they are more ...easily pleased with a bit of big bang stuff rather than say...substance and dialogue. Average.

3.5 out of 10 Not what I thought...
Keith from Laois, 29 Jun 2010
But still good. The Mrs fell asleep 10 mins in, but for when it was made it was interesting to see how they predicted the future.

3.5 out of 10 OK
James from Kildare, 10 Oct 2007
Not as good as 2001, doubt that's possible. But I think that's its a good follow up and we get to hear HAL again!

Ronan from Dublin, 27 Jul 2007
thought this was better than 2001, and that in itself says something... why did it have to end.

What's it about....
It's 2010: The Year We Make Contact! While planet Earth poises on the brink of nuclear self-destruction, a team of Russian and American scientists hurtle to a rendezvous with the abandoned Discovery spacecraft and its sole known survivor, the homicidal computer HAL. Their mission: "awaken" HAL and unravel the puzzling series of events that culminated in Dave Bowman's last transmission: "My God, it's full of stars!"
