4.5 out of 10 Big Fish

The father has a habit of embellishing the truth to such an extent that the son doesn't feel he knows him.I think that there are a lot of families that have such characters who never let the truth get in the way of a good story. At the end of the day has the son misjudged his dad? Tim Burton has his hallmark stamped all over this film and the themes that run through it have a resonance to anyone who has been lucky enough to have had storied told to them as children by their parents/grandparents.

3.5 out of 10 Big Fish

Not quite typical Tim Burton but close enough and thats not necessarily a bad thing here. It's full of story and imagination and has a great cast. Its easy to get caught up in the story here and you should enjoy this.

4 out of 10 Melancholy and Amusing

Another good film from Tim Burton, weird and wonderful as only he can do. A rites of passage story loosely based on his own life. Helena Bonham carter makes a great witch!

A colourful tale of fantastic stories. As a son tries to separate the truth from mythology, of his dying fathers epic adventures.

What's it about....
Edward Bloom has always been a teller of tall-tales about his oversized life as a young man, when his wanderlust led him on an unlikely journey from a small-town in Alabama around the world and back again. His mythic exploits dart from the delightful to the delirious as he weaves epic tales about giants, blizzards, a witch and conjoined-twin lounge singers. With his larger-than-life stories, Bloom charms almost everyone he encounters except for his estranged son Will. When...
