Comedy with a message!

This movie is a family film which should be considered seperate from Bruce Almighty as it takes quite a different approach to the idea of someone being spoken to by God. If you like a modern day twist on Bible stories then you will love this like I did. If that's not your idea of fun then you may be left a little dissappointed as Evan Almighty doesn't offer quite the same "big laugh moments" as Bruce.
Light hearted fun

Seen the trailer for this one and it looked kinda funny. I wasn't expecting too much. I wasn't disappointed. Me the wife and son watched it together. By the end of it we all had that warm glowing feeling. Jokes were ok some funny some not. I prefered Jim Carey in the first one.
Watchable - not meant to be taken too serious.
More of a kids movie

If you haven't already guessed Evan Almighty is more of a kids movie than its predecessor, Bruce Almighty. You should really think of them as separate movies with separate expectations otherwise you will be disappointed.
Good

This is an ok film – if you liked Bruce Almighty it is on the same par. Steve Carrell is not up to his usual high standard but it is the material not him – there are some funny moments but is a little preachy
Evan Almightly

Good for a giggle. Don't expect as much laughs as bruce almightly but Morgan Freeman is excellent. Watched the bonus features and found it interesting how they got the whole film together.
