Graphic scenes of violence and some serious acting

Quality film which leaves nothing to the imagination of what it is like for some people to live in impoverished areas of England... Michael Caine is top notch as ever and has great support in the cast right thru... Cinematography is very realistic ...Its an epic story that portrays the dysfunctionality of drug ridden neighbourhoods, the thug element and the cost of being in the wrong place for the right reasons...Slow at times, this action film is well scripted and builds as the film progresses.
Poor relation to Gran Torino

Did I enjoy it, yes was the story a bit far fetched yes, is this an accurate portrayal of life in England I dont think so for one minute,, they didnt have such a storyline as Gran Torino so decided to spice it up with lots of violence. One minute Harry is a ninja boy as quick as lightening the next he is collapsing after a little run so what is it is he a geriatric rambo or alf garnett in disguise neither Caine does his best but for me this is just above average overall.
One you will think about again and again

A fantastic film. Michael Caine is outstanding as Harry Brown. He seems to get better and better with each year. This is an insightful and thought provoking movie about old age, isolation and the society in which they have to live. I would encourage anyone to go see this. Please do not expect a film which sugar coats anything. This is as blunt and realistic as you can get.
English Gran Torino

Was looking forward to this movie but sadly far too depressing for me, yes it does depict modern day England probably in a realistic sight, I don't know, but I do know it wasn't for me. I thought the storyline was an English version of Gran Torino in some aspects but I enjoyed that movie far more.
Interesting but a bit ott

Good enough premise for a film, ending sufficiently different to make it worth watching. some of the language and violence a bit overdone, i think. it needed to be there but not to the extent that it is. michael caine is very good. some of the characters a little less so, esp the police ones
