Loved It

If you ever travel alone and spend endless nights in a place you don't know or even like that much you will relate and enjoy this simple, honest and sometimes down right funny film. Don't expect it to light up your life but do expect to smile watching it and afterwards even think you might travel there some time... I love Murray anyways but to some fans it would be a bit slow and not side splitting funny as most of his stuff is, but this is not typical Murray. I was surprised I liked Scarlet!

What was all the fuss about?

I admit I came to this movie well after all the hype has settled down but I really could not understand what all the fuss was about. It's turgid, dull and uninspiring to say the least. Even the normally gorgeous Scarlett Johansson appears morbid and frumpy, what a disappointment. The only 'highlight' was Bill Murray in a tragi serious role, but even that joy wore thin pretty quickly.
All hype and no substance

Poor, slow and very disappointing film. Hollywood trying to be a European film in my opinion. Avoid this film as there are plenty of good films from the World Cinema range to choose from. After seeing some of Sofia Coppola other films "Marie Antoinette" & "The Virgin Suicides" in my opinion is a poor director. Sofia Coppola never again for me. All hype and no substance.
One of my favourite movies

This film, you either love it or hate it. I just get it. It is a beautiful film, Sophie Coppela has a depth to her directing which you can recognise as her style. The main actors are excellent and they capture their connection in a plausible way.
Give it a try.
Don't miss this

Worth renting for the opening alone, this is one of the best on-screen "evolutions of a relationship" ever. Bill Murray is excellent, Scarlett Johansson outstanding. Plenty of humour as well as a beautifully played-out and delicate storyline.
