The amazingly worthless script

If you liked Spider-Man in 2002, don’t watch this film. With this "reboot" expect the same scenario, more/less the same dialogue ("it's not a choice, it's about responsibilities !")...ermmm deja vu...
On top of that, the really unnecessary comments from broadcaster in the movie keeping you updated of what's going on (in case you’re thick you know!) : "oh my I don't know what is crawling on the side of this building but it's big and angry and not human" or "Spiderman is wounded, we don't know if he is going to make it" - really??
The start of the movie was promising and the actors are good. The big plot and secret about Peter’s parents is interesting but unfortunately unexplained and really doesn’t do anything to the movie.
There’s a good chemistry between Garfield/Stone... we know where that lead - they are cute and credible
Sally Field is an excellent cryer, Martin Sheen is very good at managing a growing teenager (he know what it is to have a disturbed child already !)
The amazingly thin script

On top of that, the really unnecessary journalists in the movie keeping you aware of what's going on "oh my I don't know what is crawling on this building but it's big and angry" "Spiderman is wounded, we don't know if he'll make it" - really?? The start was promising and the actors are good except R Ifans who is absolutely not credible. I expected "it's me, Spikey" any seconds. No place for that mad scientist role. Anyway... 2 stars for the acting and the beginning but the rest is amazingly thin and boring. give it a miss

Not so amazing

Overall the film does what it says on the tin, good visuals, good acting, good stunts. Not a massive fan of Garfield so felt he wasn't the best spiderman in the world but for those who may of not seen the originals (they weren't that long ago) he may be just for you. Saying that, this film doesn't provide anything new to the mix, same story, same characters more or less, alot of unplausible events. Therefore begs to wonder why they bothered to do a re-make if it's going to be exactly the same. Entertaining to a degree but nothing spectacular.
Very Very Good

Okay. So a few times I found I had to remind my self this isn't Toby Maguire. The story is, in my opinion, better told her. The characters are more believable and it also flows better. I enjoyed the film a lot.

I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would. Worth the re-boot and Garfield is very good in the role.
