A must

A wonderful movie: congratulations to that visionary director Julian Taymour is! The risk was creating many separates useless beatles videoclip, but she managed to weave a real story starting from the songs, she used them prefectly, the actors performed and sang really well... everyone must see it, both Beatles fan and not, it's moving, intelligent, interesting for the description of the 60-70's, both on a social and political level.. what else... wonderful soundtrack, OF COURSE!

Surprising rubbish

I didnt realise this was a musical so my own mistake and I was starting to get bored with it early on but I came round they murder some Beatles numbers and carry others off okay but if your a mad beatles fan you may find this deeply offensive, as for the film well I walked out and went and made a cuppa and no I did not get the missus to pause which tells its only story oh and while I remember its too bloody long by far
Good effort

Nice idea, but about an hour too long and the kinda stuff that shouldn't leave broadway. There was some great cameos, eddie Izzard turns up and sings "For the Benifit of Mr.Kite" which is a high point and even Bono does a reasonable job of "I am the Walrus" but its still does really save this schizoid, brown acid trip of a movie.
Just couldn't get into this one

I did have big hopes for this, but I just couldn't really get into it. The acting wasn't great for a start and the characters were just a little too bland for a musical. After an hour and 20 mins I checked and saw that I still had an hour to go and just felt that I couldn't be bothered giving that much time to it.
Great Musical

Really enjoyed this movie. Great use of great songs given a contemporary feel, really capturing some of the more psychedelic and alternative side of The Beatles' music. Very interesting storyline and some great performances too. An underrated modern day musical classic. Will be appreciated in years to come.
