Steer clear!
Neil from Meath, 10 Oct 2007
This movie tries to take a comical stance on the cynical world of reality TV, ala American Idol/X Factor. Hugh Grant plays Simon Cowel and Denis Quaid plays George Bush. Parody gone farther wrong than the persosn responsibile for titling the movie. Written and directed by Paul Weitz (American Pie and About a Boy) and with a cast of established actors (except Moore!) this movie is so bad that I have to wonder has Weitz developed a crack habit? I kept waiting for a punchline that never came.
A bit of silly fun

"White Trash" meets "Celebrity Nut"... a good one to watch if you have nothing better to do. Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy it but it's one of those movies that you see once, it pleases you somewhat, but then forget. It's not bad, but so predictable. At least the end is good.
Disappointing

Some good ideas in this but never really comes together and all seemed a bit stinted and disjointed - Grant does a relatively ok impression of Simon Cowell but not enough to save a disappointing movie that starts full of promise but fails to deliver
Disappointed!

Not sure why Hugh Grant took this role, his usually funny self is not visible in this. Poor movie.
