From director Roland Emmerich (“Independence Day,” “The Day After Tomorrow”) comes a
sweeping odyssey into a mythical age of prophesies and gods, when spirits rule the land and mighty mammoths shake the earth.
In a remote mountain tribe, the young hunter D’Leh (Steven Strait) has found his
heart’s passion – the beautiful Evolet (Camilla Belle). But when a band of mysterious
warlords raid his village and kidnap Evolet, D’Leh leads a small group of hunters to
pursue the warlords to the end of the world to save her. As they venture into unknown
lands for the first time, the group discovers there are civilizations beyond their own
and that mankind’s reach is far greater than they ever knew. At each encounter the
group is joined by other tribes who have been attacked by the slave raiders, turning D’Leh’s once-small band into an army.
Driven by destiny, the unlikely warriors must battle prehistoric predators while braving
the harshest elements. At their heroic journey’s end, they uncover a lost civilization
and learn their ultimate fate lies in an empire beyond imagination, where great pyramids reach into the skies.
Here they will take their stand against a tyrannical god who has brutally enslaved their
own. And it is here that D’Leh finally comes to understand that he has been called to save not only Evolet but all of civilization.
Warner Bros. Pictures presents, in association with Legendary Pictures, a Centropolis
Production of a Roland Emmerich film: “10,000 BC”, starring Steven Strait, Camilla Belle and Cliff Curtis.

Garage . . .
Garage DVD release follows the film’s huge success at the IFTA's taking home
a grand total of four awards including Best Actor, Best Directors, Best Script
and the Best Film but tributes for Garage are not all home grown – it also took awards at the Cannes Film Festival.
Josie (Pat Shortt) has spent 20 years as the caretaker of a crumbling petrol station in small-town Ireland. Despite
loneliness and the fact that his neighbours treat him as a figure of fun, he’s always good natured, absurdly optimistic
and, in his own peculiar way, happy; he has his place - it might not be great, but it’s his. Garage is the story of
Josie’s hapless search for intimacy over the course of a summer which sees his little niche threatened and his life changed forever.

Staff Choice
This month we have our patriotic hats on, our staff choice of the month is The Van.
Based on the book by Roddy Doyle and first released twelve years ago, the attitude
and hardship portrayed in the film is less prevalent in today’s Dublin. The language
is also less shocking than it was when it was originally released but when delivered in timeless
Dublin accents and with unfaltering comic timing it still makes us laugh.
If you have never seen this movie or if you need to have your faith in Irish spirit and
humour restored we strongly suggest you rent The Van this month.
