“The Love Guru” is for some the long awaited return of the one man Mike Myers show. Five years after we last saw Austin Powers and many years since Wayne Campbell’s head banging days, we will now see Pitka trying to make a quick buck from the self help nation of American.

Raised by gurus in India after being abandoned as a child, Pitka believes he can forge fame and fortune from his unorthodox upbringing. He is employed to rescue the high profile relationship of a star player of Toronto Maple Leaf hockey team, and his wife.

With mild reviews from the critics and mixed reviews from the fans it easy to see that Pitka adventures do not result in hilarious consequences but are instead punctuated with the occasional laugh out loud moment.

One of the major flaws of the movie is that although Myers was the co-writer of the movie he seems to have also moonlighted as his own director. It appears Myers' performance was all his own and did he not have anyone from behind the camera influencing him, he could have done and certainly the movie could have done with more direction – then maybe it wouldn’t be the smash and grab slap stick that it is! You may argue that, that’s what Myers does best but we think he has done it better.
