Resident Evil gets top spot


The third part of the Resident Evil film installment opened in top spot at the North American box office. Its ticket sales beat its previous record for the franchise by nearly $6 million with a total sales of $23.68 million, that works out at over €16million. This is a record for the franchise.
Gaining the No. 2 spot for the weekend was Lionsgate's comedy of dating errors, "Good Luck Chuck," starring Dane Cook and Jessica Alba.
While at number three was last weekends number one Jodie Foster's revenge film "The Brave One".


The Bourne Ultimatum


In the foreign box offices "The Bourne Ultimatum" is enduring the top spot making an estimated $13 million(€9.2million) at the weekend. That brings its worldwide gross is $364.2 million
(€258.4 million) so far.
It opened at No. 1 in India, Portugal and Turkey and held onto first place in France Germany and Austria.
Following the success of blockbusters "The Bourne Identity" and "The Bourne Supremacy", The Bourne Ultimatum takes us back into the journey of trained killer Jason Bourne as he searches for answers to his true identity. Bourne has lost the love of his life and is looking for vengeance as he is trailed by the very people who made him the killing machine that he is. The Bourne Ultimatum is directed by acclaimed British director Paul Greengrass, written by Tony Gilroy and stars Golden Globe winner Matt Damon.
